Nationwide Mutual Insurance was founded in 1925 as the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, and re-branded in 1955 to Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.
Set up as a mutual company, Nationwide members (policyholders) are the owners of the company. This structure allows members to receive increases or decreases in premium rates and potentially dividends.
