More Spring Cleaning Tips

  • Sort things into three boxes: Keep, Donate, Trash. This will not only help you fill your boxes, but gives you a visual of how far along you are
  • Store a roll of garbage bags at the bottom of the bin. When you need to replace the garbage bag, you’ll have them right there instead of digging around to find one
  • Set a timer for 30 minutes every day to keep up on cleaning around the house. If you do this you’ll find you won’t have to knock it all out in one day
  • A fresh coat of paint can make a room feel completely new, and make it feel fresh
  • Many organization items can be found at your local dollar store or craft store
  • Rent a steamer from a local store to get a deep clean on your carpet and furniture
  • Make a rule that for every 1 thin you bring home you get rid of 2 things to help keep clutter down
  • Go through things like books, movies, toys, kid’s clothes, jewelry, and other things you may not think of to sell or donate
  • Update pictures in picture frames
  • Shred any paperwork with personal information on it
  • Recruit the whole household to pitch in
